July 17, 2017

AMPS ran its first Young Guns event on Monday 17th July in Gunnedah. The aim of the afternoon was to target young growers within the AMPS network to discuss the future of the business.

The purpose of the discussion was to develop an understanding into the next generation of customers that will one day become the key decision makers within their businesses. We spent time with the growers discussing the strengths, weaknesses and challenges they face day to day within their own farms.

From these discussions we quickly identified the biggest worry most growers shared about their individual businesses was succession planning. From this we have decided to ensure our next AMPS Young Guns event includes a workshop regarding succession planning within a business, as we know now it will relate and be beneifical to our younger customers.

As a company AMPS also has to look to the future and ensure it has a long term plan. By investing time into this younger generation of farmers we will hopefully build a base of customers and potential future shareholders to keep this company going well into the future.

Special thanks to David Brownhill and Dave Carter for attending this event. Having original AMPS members engaging with this younger group really shaped the day and is something we want to encourage in all our Young Gun events.
