AMPS Storage & Handling Pty Ltd


Position Summary:


Responsible for the smooth and efficient day to day operations of the respective AMPS Storage & Handling sites, ensuring they are operated in a efficient and cost effective manner.


Tasks, Responsibilities & Authorities


Major Focus


To physically operate the Storage & Handling sites and to co-ordinate the following tasks:

  • Direct and Co-ordinate staff
  • Receiving and out loading commodities
  • Managing stock levels on site
  • Ensure site remains clean & hygienic
  • Manage insect control
  • Enter loads into the ‘Silo Manager’ database system
  • Test commodity quality on receival and outturn
  • Operate the weighbridges
  • Operate the respective equipment to handle commodity in and out loads
  • General duties as required
  • Maintaining of equipment
  • Adhering to operational processes and procedures

  • Accuracy of quality analysis
  • Accuracy of entries into ‘Silo Manager’

Job Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of summer & winter crops
  • Current drivers licence
  • Equipment Licences
  • Sound computer skills
  • Ability to relate to farmers & strong customer service skills
  • Honesty, integrity & good work ethic
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong team player
  • Commitment to WHS principles and safe work practices




  • Position will report to the AMPS Grain Manager
  • Employee will be largely responsible for his/her own time management to ensure tasks are completed in a timely, efficient, cost effective and productive manner


Working Conditions

  • Work will be required at the two (2) AMPS Storage and Handling locations, Waverley Rd Caroona and Premer Rd Premer
  • Five (5) days per week
    • Core hours – 8:00am to 4:00pm
    • 60 min meal break
    • Some after hours work during peak periods
  • Flexible work hours can be negotiated to meet both business and personal requirements. To be discussed with the manager.
  • Work will be outdoor the majority of the time
  • Depending of seasonal requirement work at another AMPS sites may be required  


Salary & Benefits

  • Base salary plus superannuation to be negotiated
  • Penalty rates where applicable
  • 4 weeks annual leave
  • A maintained company vehicle to be provided – including reasonable private use
  • Standard sick leave entitlements, carer’s leave, & parental leave entitlements
  • Health Checks will be required periodically during employment


Health & Safety


It is to be noted that to carry out the tasks the following physical activities are a regular part in this role:


  • Regular lifting, bending, twisting of loads e.g. shovelling, sweeping, etc

  • Working in confined spaces

  • Working at heights including on ladders and catwalks

  • Working in heat, dust, noise, etc

  • Working extended hours when required

  • Operate mobile and fixed plant and equipment

  • Wear personal protective equipment

  • Work alone & independently
